LL 2 Victorious 6-2 over Bruce Peninsula
Can you give the “Player of the Game” award to a whole bunch of kids?  There is a long list of players whose energy, effort and skills would earn them the Player of the Game for their showing tonight.

Brady, Brady, Brady Phillips – was on fire tonight showing off his smooth skating and perseverance throughout the game.  Defensemen Quinn Fowler, Ritchie Carter, and Nick Embro had lots of powerful shots to dump in the puck and keep control of the play.  Dylan Poulsen had HUGE shots from the point, strong follow-thorough and poured on the speed to steal and take off to carry the puck to the net.  Fantastic showing from defense this game – Dylan’s efforts resulted in a HAT-TRICK tonight, scoring our 1st, 4th and 5th goals  Assists by Nick, Caleb, Camden, and Devin and Jack.

Our 2nd goal was a forward team effort scored by Brennan Martin.  Brennan turned on the jet engines during tonight’s game and skated hard.  Lucas Noe stayed right in the play throughout the game and scored the 3rd goal assisted by Tyler and Andrew.

Devin Drury had great shots and played with a lot of heart.  Devin scored our 6th and final goal of the game with two minutes left in the 3rd.    That goal was the “cherry on top of the sundae”, to make the win just a little bit sweeter – thanks Devin!

Netminder, Jack Bennett did not disappoint – he made great stick saves, glove saves, blocks and deflections.  The two Bruce Peninsula goals were high and hard, just getting in over Jack’s shoulder.  Jack’s skills and speed are appreciated on the team. Great work Jack!

Camden Ritchie covered the ice like a pro – quick skates, smart plays and nice defensive moves allowed Cam to help out whenever needed!  Liam Kelly completed some great passes and had great control of the puck.

Caleb Mason showed great hustle tonight and Andrew Guo came alive this game and played very well, with positioning, determination and strength.  He had a great attempt at a wrap-around shot, when the shot was blocked, teammates were there to help out. His stick was a puck-magnet tonight! Lucas was always in the right place at just the right time, ready to receive a pass or sneak the puck away from the opponents.  Breakaways, tons of shots on net, and a taste for the win.    What did those kids eat for dinner??

With a final score of 6 – 2, the teams will face each other again Tuesday night at 7 at the
Plex for the second game in the best of three final series.

There were some inaccuracies and illegible entries on the scoresheet, so my apologies if there are any errors in this report.
