Storming the Building!
In the final game in the post-season round-robin, Saugeen Shores LL 2 puts one more W on the score sheet.  Finishing a perfect series with 10 points, LL2 goes on to play Bruce Peninsula 1 for the Championship Finals:  Game 1 scheduled for Monday, March 9 at 7 pm in Wiarton.

Brady was in top form this afternoon. B really put his hustle on and held his position throughout the game.  Defenseman Nick pulled the puck into his control and worked to keep the play inside the blue line.  Powerhouse Ritchie skated hard and out-muscled Shallow Lake attackers.  Quinn carried the puck up the ice several times and raced back on defense.  Nice coverage to help out on D from Lucas and Camden this game.

Tristan and Caleb both had great games and tried hard.  Liam and Tyler did well moving the puck down the ice and getting into position.  Brennan had several scoring chances as he was consistently in position in front of the net.  Joe and Andrew had many opportunities to control the play and used their speed to our advantage.   Devin had some great deeks and strong shots, fantastic job.  There were two shorthanded goals, one for each team this game.  The pressure seemed to pay off and all the players shifted into overdrive when playing one-man down.  Assists were not recorded on the game sheet; however, many players made excellent passes and were watching to send the puck up the ice to open teammates.  Wonderful teamwork.

Shallow Lake did a strong job
keeping the play in our end but that didn’t stop Dylan Poulsen from barrelling through the Lakers defense to score two goals.  Wow!

Jack Bennett did a super job fending off some tricky Shallow Lake shots.  What a great goalie!  The goals scored by Shallow Lake were well placed and Jack had many amazing saves.

Regulation time ended with a 2-2 tie
with both teams really wanting to win.  The game moved into sudden death overtime.   The hometown crowd went wild when Lucas Noe lifted the puck and shot it right past the goalie’s glove for the game winning goal.

Final Score 3 – 2 for LL 2.
