South-Port Optimist Atom Local League Tournament
A big thanks to the South-Port Optimist Club for hosting a great event complete with a lunch for players and team leadership staff in the Green Room. It is wonderful to have a tournament right here at home with the support of local volunteers.
The first game of the annual Optimist Tournament was a great showing from the Saugeen Shores LL 2 team. Great teamwork amongst the players…despite the early hour everyone was keen to play hard. The win at 8 am against the other Atom Storm team brought us to our next game at 1:00 against Shallow Lake. It was a tough battle against the Lakers, a regular rival during the season. Great goals were scored and the goalies had some hard work to do all game long with many scoring opportunities on both sides. Shallow Lake took the Win and LL 2 retired to the dressing rooms after their second and final game of the tournament to rest up and prepare for their playoff game Sunday against LL 1.
