Storm LL 2 Win in Paisley
The crowd went wild every time goalie Jack Bennett made a big save…and there were many BIG saves.  Saving shot after shot, the Icedogs were relentless and kept Jack busy all game long.

The first period was scoreless.  Storm defenseman Dylan Poulsen put goals on the board in the 2nd and 3rd periods and the AEMHA Icedogs scored one in the third for a final score of 2:1 Storm.

Poulsen did double duty tonight both fighting to keep the puck in our possession in a defensive position and skating up for scoring opportunities.  After battling to dump in the puck, he took the matter into his own hands and rushed the net backed up by teammate Camden Ritchie.  Dylan scored his first goal at 5:21 in the second period.  In a strategic coaching move, Coach Mike Phillips moved Dylan into a forward position for a play mid-way through the third period and at 8:28 Dylan scored his second goal.

Joseph Hodgkins was a digger, taking the puck away from Icedogs players many times.  Joseph was focused and effective this game.  Great Job!

Defenseman Richie Carter really had a super game with excellent positioning and solid coverage of the net.  Quinn Fowler did well looking for his teammates and passing the puck.  Nick Embro came alive in the third period and poured on the speed to chase down a break-away.  Brady Phillips hustled on the ice and had a great sliding deflection to stop a shot.  Nice moves!

Forwards Andrew Guo and Lucas Noe all showed speed and skill in scoring attempts.  Liam Kelly and Caleb Mason worked hard to stay in the play. Ira Kimewon did a great job winning the face-offs.    Brennan Martin did well clearing the puck out of our zone.  Tyler Morrison showed great stick-handling and rushed the net with a shot late in the 3rd period.  Great effort!

No penalties on either team this game, it was great to see fair play out there.  And then there were the fans….loud, louder and loudest….a good time had by all.  Bring your earplugs to the next game if you don’t appreciate involved and enthusiastic fans!  See y’allon Friday in Wiarton at 7 pm where we face-off against Bruce Peninsula #1.
