A Win and a Loss as Winning Streak Ends
Another busy weekend of hockey for the Ralph's Shoppette/ Heather's Poodle Care Bantam C Girls as they travelled to Thornbury Friday night and posted a 4-1 victory. The girls played a solid game from goal on out. Everyone had something to contribute even if they didn't make the score sheet.

The team started strong and Victoria Matheson found Sarah Bester with a perfect feed to put her in alone , Sarah made no mistake and we were up 1-0. Georgian Shores tied the game early in the 2nd, the first goal Tiffany Kewagishig has allowed in the last 4 games. But, that was the only one to get past her. Taylor Ferguson, Amber Hou and Savannah Brown added goals to clinch the win and the streak reached 7 wins and 2 ties in our last 9 games.
The streak ended on Saturday with a trip to Teeswater to face South Bruce. The home team came out flying and we were on our heels the whole first period. Trailing 2-0 after 1 was not a common thing for the girls to face. But instead of giving up they carried the play for the next 2 periods and worked hard to get back in the game. South Bruce would have none of it as their goalie gave us a little of our own medicine, throwing a shut out at us. We could say the girls were tired  and it was their 4th game in 7 days, but I will tip my hat to South Bruce, they played hard and beat us straight up. We will see them again on Wednesday night in Southampton for a re match. I think we will be ready when the puck drops for this one, I can't wait.
