Storm Start The Season With A Win
It was a great first game for the Saugeen Shores Storm! The Hanover Falcons were at the Plex for an exhibition match to meet the Storm for their first home game of the season.

In the first period J.D. Barnard picked up a rebound to put the storm on the board with a power play goal.  That goal gave the Storm the initial momentum and was quickly followed by another as Ben Schmidt fed Coleton McNabb with just under 3 minutes left to put the Storm up 2 to 0.

The team kept the energy levels high coming into the second period and put themselves ahead 3-0 with an unassisted goal by Troy Courneyea, their second power play goal of the game.  Hanover found a little ground after that and quickly got it back to bring the Falcons back to within 2.

Following the intermission the Storm came out strong, dominating most of the third period.  They put the nail in the coffin late in the third when Coleton McNabb scored his second of the game on a feed from Aidan Ackerman.

Christian Doubt saved 15 of 16 shots on goal for the Storm in their impressive 4 to 1 win.

Shots on goal were 16 for Hanover and 15 for Saugeen Shores.

The next home game is Monday night at 7:30 in Southampton against Walkerton.
