The Unifor Atom Rep Team Advances to the OMHA Quarter Finals
The Unifor Atom Rep Team advanced to the OMHA quarter finals after beating the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils in an exciting series were they played five games in six days.

Old Man Winter prevented the series from starting the previous weekend so the series started with a double header in Erin on Saturday, February 1st.  The Atom's traveled in style with their families as they rode in a coach to play the double header.

The first game started out a little slow as the Devils got out to a 2 goal lead after two periods.  However the Storm were far from being done when Spencer Sutter scored two goals to tie the game up at 2-2 in the third.  Then with 59 seconds to go in the third period Samuel Elyea scored the game winner with a shot from the point.  The assists in the game went to Skyler Pomroy, Samuel Elyea, Zahne Barton, Corey Ribey and Brady Moulton.

In the second game the Storm came out with a whole lot of jump and scored early in the first period when Sam Flarity gave the Storm the lead.  Then in the second James Fowler scored one of his two goals in the game and Zahne Barton added the final insurance goal.  With excellent goaltending from Jarrett Blue the Storm prevailed 4-1 to lead the series 2 games to none.  The assists in the games went to Sam Kozelenko, David Parsons, Brady Moulton and Caelan MacDonald.

The third game was held in Southampton on Sunday, February 2nd.  In this game we saw the Storm dominate the entire game but still lose 4-3 in overtime.  Goal scorers for the Storm were Skyler Pomroy with 2 goals and Zahne Barton.  The assists in the game went to Skyler Pomroy, Brady Moulton, Zahne Barton and Spencer Sutter.  So with the win by the Devils the series was 2 games to 1 for the Storm.

The fourth game once again was back in Southampton on Wednesday, February 5th which saw the Storm jump out to an early lead in the first period when Spencer Sutter scored.  Then the Storm increased their lead to 2 goals when Sam Flarity scored.  However the Devils tied up the game in the third period but then Spencer Sutter scored to give the Storm the lead once again.  The Devils battle back to tie the game late in the third then with overtime settling nothing and the game ending in a 3-3 tie so it was on to a game five in Erin.

In an exciting fifth game in Erin on Thursday, February 5th the Storm jumped out to a 2 goal lead with goals from James Fowler and Zahne Barton.  Then with goals from Samuel Flarity in the second period and goals from Zahne Barton again and Joey Ackert in the third the Storm sealed the series victory 5-2.  Once again the Storm saw their goalie Jarrett Blue play outstanding as he did the entire series.  The assists in the game went to Sam Flarity, Spencer Sutter, James Fowler, Samuel Elyea, Brady Moulton and Zahne Barton.

It was an awesome effort overall by a pretty special hockey team who seem to be finding their stride at the right time.  The Storm would also like to mention that Erin-Hillsburgh team was a very classy team the entire series.  They also hosted the Storm and their families to a pot luck lunch on February 1st.  Thank you Devils you showed what being a true sportsman is all about.
