The Novice BB team had another stellar showing at a tournament for the second straight weekend.

The Port Elgin Home Hardware/ Dunlop Fuels Novice BB team was coming off a huge weekend at a tournament in Beamsville Ont. last weekend where they had to play 3 really tough A and BB teams. The Storm put up an amazing fight in all 3 games but were only able to pull off one victory which was not enough to advance to the medal rounds.
But this weekend in Saugeen Shores at the Chris Knott Memorial tournament we were rewarded for all the hard work. With great goaltending from Keenan Bender all weekend long the Storm were able to achieve a record of 2 wins and a loss in the preliminary rounds, which was enough for a birth in the Semi finals against the Walkerton Capitals. The Capitals a team that we dominated all season up until this point, have now become a much improved team and in the semi final pushed us to over time. But with the hard work of Caleb Eagen to get the puck to the net it was Jarrett Trumbley who was able to put the game away with a nifty shot from just above the crease.
The storm now advance to the Championship final against The NOTL wolves. This game was all about  the hardwork of Finn Cushnie. Finn and his line mates Sabra Cannon and Caleb Eagen were able to get several pucks to the net but were never able to beat the wolves goaltender. The Novice BB Storm, with heads held high, leave this tournament with there 2nd silver medal of the season.

A special shout out goes to the  duo of Devin Drury and Cooper Mcullogh who continue to grow together and improve each and every ice time. Also to Wyatt McNabb who no matter how much pressure he is under continues to be a rock on the point. Dustin Heipel,  Luke Thornley and  Adam Perry also had great weekends and are  also gaining strength with each and every ice time.

Congratulations Storm!

Players need note that your Coaches, Parents, and fans are extremely proud of  you and know that great things are sure to happen in the near future.  Just keep up the Hardwork!
