Nov 7 - Storm take on Mount Forest Rams
The Bantam Girls HL team made the trek to Mount Forest with a full squad to take on the 2 win, 3 loss Rams on their home turf. It was rough affair with Mount Forest taking 6 penalties throughout, but our girls remained composed and stuck to playing a solid hockey game, losing a close decision 4-2.
The first period, once again saw our Storm girls fall behind early, closing out the first period down by 2. The second period had the Rams score twice more, but answered this time with an unassisted rocket from the point by Leah Fowler making the score 4-1. What is beginning to become our signature of being the “strong finishing Storm”, our girls won the third period with a goal from Kelly Robertson (her second in as many games) assisted by the hard working Eve Martin. This was a great effort all around with some incredibly acrobatic saves by Marley Scott.
Once again the Bantam Girls want to thank all the parents that made the long drive on a work / school night. Particular thanks to the Pee Wee Girls that superbly supported their Bantam sisters – Victoria Matheson, Marley Scott, Abby Acton, Janelle Fowler, Savanah Brown, Rachel Kelly, Eve Martin and Jamie Ann Miller.
