The Port Elgin Legion Saugeen Shores PeeWee Storm travelled to Tara Saturday morning for WOAA playoff action against the Arran-Elderslie Icedogs.
Saugeen Shores was first
on the scoreboard as Emma Vanhaelemeesch found the back of the net on a blazing
wrist shot with three minutes left in the opening period. The Storm would go short handed before the
period ended and killed off the penalty to start the second but, unfortunately,
gave up a goal to the Icedogs shortly after. Two minutes later, Jack Middleton
passed to Nic Matheson, who fed the puck to Hunter Cannon in front of the net
to give the Storm the lead again. The
Icedogs would tie it up a couple of minutes later. Saugeen
Shores got into some
penalty trouble going into the third but managed to keep the game tied. The Icedogs would take the lead with six
minutes left and The Storm would tie it up again a minute & a half
later. Into overtime they would go but
it didn’t settle anything. The game
would end in a 3-3 tie. This will be a good series.
