Season opener
The BDO Atom's opened the 2012-13 season at home facing the Walkerton Capitals. The puck dropped at 2:02 pm with both teams skating well the Storm's Brady Moulton pounced on a loose puck and beat the Capital goalie for a 1-0 lead which was quickly matched by the Capitals to even the score at 1-1. The rhythm of the game turned with the stripped shirts calling 6 penalties having the Storm faring better only gaining 2 of the infractions. This gave the Storm an extended time with a 2 man advantage but unable to capitalize on this.
The second period both teams settled into the game after the penalty filled first, Walkerton capitalizing on a rebound and taking a 2-1 lead which they carried into the third. The third period the visiting team took control potting two more goals and carrying the play for the majority of the time, the Storm undaunted never quit fighting till the end leaving everything on the ice.
The Storm will look to rebound this week when they play three games in four nights having two on the road seperated by a home game Friday night against a tough Mount Forrest team at 6:30 pm at the Southampton Coliseum come cheer the team to victory.
