Second playdown a WIN for the Midget C girls
The second game of the playdown was a win for our midget C girls. They won 4-3. The smiles of our team was just awesome.
The second playdown was against Georgian Shores who also came to win. Our girls scored first with a pass from Holly Glenn to Laura Steele who kept control of the puck and buried it in the top corner near the end of the first period. Holly Glenn scored early in the second on a pass from Leah Tuck and ripped it from the point. Georgian Shores scored 2 unanswered goals before the end of the second period to keep the game interesting.
Jill Roote made no mistake in the third as she fought off attackers and slipped one by the goalie. The smile on her face was awesome. Georgian Shores quickly scored to tie it up again but Saugeen Shores was not going to be denied a win. Laura Steele was cool under fire as she scored the go ahead goal with 0.6 secons left in the game. Way to go!
The girls played as a team and won as a team. It was an exciting game of hockey with lots of end to end play and good goal-tending, way to go Elyse!
Our girls last playdown to decide who goes to the Provincials April 13-15, 2012, will be played in Mildmay on Tuesday Feb. 21, 2012 @ 09:00pm. Keep the dream alive and have fun winning! See you at the arena.
