Rintouls / Remax Atom Girls Enjoy Successful January
The Saugeen Shores Storm Atom Girls (sponsored by Rintouls Pool & Hot Tub and Remax Land Exchange Ltd.) are enjoying one of their most successful seasons in recent memory, and they have a mid-season Silver Medal to show for it.

The girls were second place finishers in the annual Durham Huskies Tournament, losing 1-0 in the final game to their arch rivals, the Kincardine Kinucks.  Storm goaltender Marley Scott was named the team MVP by tournament organizers to recognize her stellar play in all three games.

An amazing January run,  in which the Storm have gone 5 – 0 in league play outscoring the opposition 29 – 3, has allowed the Atoms to shoot up the WOAA rankings, currently sitting just 3 points out of first place.

One of the highlights of the month, a 9-1 victory over the Durham Huskies, showed the depth of skill and a level of teamwork that the Atom Girls and their dedicated coaching staff can be proud of.  In that game, the 9 goals were scored by 9 different players with virtually every player in the lineup being credited with at least one helper, a feat not often seen at any level of hockey.

The girls are looking forward to finishing off the regular season with a couple of victories in February and then onto the OWHA Provincial Playdowns which start later that month.
