PeeWee BB vs Kincardine and Listowel
PeeWee BB Legion team had a full weekend.

The Port Elgin Legion Saugeen Shores PeeWee BB team had a full weekend. Saturday they were home to the Kincardine Kinucks. It was a very tight game with no scoring in the first. The Storm would go on the power play a couple of times early in the third but couldn’t take advantage of the extra man. The Kinucks would get the first goal at the 11 minute mark with a shot on net that took an unexpected bounce over Jake Ackert’s shoulder. Early in the third the storm would find themselves on the power play again. Paul Leger passed the puck across to Jack Middleton who found Murray Martin down low to tie the game. Both teams would have some good chances through the rest of the game but it would end in a 1-1 tie.

Sunday afternoon, the Storm travelled to Listowel to take on the Cyclones. After a scoreless first period Listowel was able to open the scoring three minutes into the second after a scramble in front of the net. Three minutes later, Duncan Wilkinson shot the puck out of the Storm end, William Forsyth deflected it in the neutral zone, the Cylcone defence lost the puck to Troy Cournyea who put it in the net to tie the game. Three minutes after that, Listowel would get a wrap-around for the go-ahead goal. With two minutes left in the second, the Cylcones would get the puck up and over Jack Flarity’s shoulders for the insurance goal. The Storm would put the pressure on in the third but didn’t get rewarded for their efforts and the game would end with a score of 3-1. Great hustle from the forwards Thomas MacDonald, Aiden Ackermen, Coleton McNabb, Nick Sutter, Colton Heipel, and Malcolm MacIntosh. Good work on defense by Kent Ribey, Kenneth Bollen, and Kelly Cobean. Submitted by Adel Middleton
