The magic at the Coliseum continues for Novice Storm LL#2.
Short benched due to the holidays the remaining members of the Willy’s Contracting Novice Storm LL#2 and one call up from Tyke pulled together an astounding team effort to dominate the strong novice entry from Arran-Elderslie.

With only two complete forward lines and one and a half defence lines the Storm players each had a lot of ice time this game.  Looking outgunned on paper against the Ice Dogs, what the Storm lacked in numbers the team made up for in determination.

Starting again from the centre position this game, David opened up the scoring for the Storm at 05:11 on the clock in the first.  After taking an assist from Riley and tyke call up Jarrett he deked across the net and snapped a quick backhand past the Ice Dog’s net minder to put the Storm on the board.  However, one minute and thirty five seconds later the Ice Dogs responded with a breakaway and a high hard backhand of their own to bring the score back to even at 03:36.  But after another minute and half of play, David out powered the Ice Dogs defence to create his own breakaway and jammed it high for the go head goal and eventual game winner at 02:09.

The only score in the second was a shot on net by David on a pass from Jarrett.  The Ice Dogs goalie made the initial stop but David picked off his own rebound and put it home for the goal at 08:16 to complete the hat trick; his second in as many games.  Great work David!

The Storm scored two more times in the third.  First at 07:24, Patrick working hard all night stole possession of the puck from the Ice Dogs in the neutral zone, outskated the opposition to the net and put a shot in high on the short side; his first goal of the season.  The hometown crowd erupted cheering way to go, Patrick!  Finally, Jarrett after already getting two assists and ringing one off the post in the second got his own – a solo breakaway effort down the right wing side at 03:25 to put the Storm up by four.  Final score Storm 5, Ice Dogs 1.

Stars of the game David and Patrick.
