Novice Storm LL#2 played a great game on Wednesday night against TCDMHA Rebels LL#1.
The Storm opened the scoring in the first period when Nick took a shot within a crowd right in front of the Rebels netminder. The puck was caught in skate traffic but it was Cyrus who got his stick on it and put it home at 06:41 - his first of the season. Way to go Cyrus! A little over two minutes later Sam picked off a Rebels pass and drove it to the net at 05:00 to put the Storm up by two.
The only scoring in the Second was when David grabbed a loose puck in the neutral zone and worked it around the opposition to score an unassisted goal for the Storm at 05:00. The Storm scored again in the third as Skyler fired a solo shot on the breakaway at 05:52.
Tanner’s first test in net of the night was on a stray puck from a broken up Rebels rush in the first that still came screaming in at the net. Tanner executed a perfect deflection to the corner for the save. Tanner’s outstanding use of his stick, his glove and his pads tonight earned him his second shut out of the season. Great job Tanner! Storm 4, Rebels 0.
