Pee Wee LL Storm Take Home WOAA Consolation Championship
The Power Workers' Union/Meridian Credit Union PeeWee LL Storm win the second and third game in the final playoff series against TCDMHA earning the WOAA North Consolation Championship.

On March 24th, the Pee Wee Storm travelled to Keady for the first of three games in the playoff series.

The first game was well-matched with the Storm leading into the third period.  The Storms’ Evan Lamont scored the first goal in the beginning of the second period, while TCDMHA quickly responded with a goal 30 seconds later.  Ben Vecchies put his team ahead with an assist from Thomas Forsyth.  The opposing team came out strong in the third period scoring 2 goals.  Harrison Williams tied up the game for the Storm 3 – 3.  With only 2 minutes left on the clock, TCDMHA fired one in to win the game.

The following night, the Storm hosted the second game in the playoff series.  The first and second period remained scoreless as both teams played strong defensively, and the Storm’s goalies, Richard Besito and Brady Conley, remained solid between the pipes, blocking several hard shots.  TCDMHA came out strong again in the third period scoring the first goal of the night after only 10 seconds of the puck being dropped.  The Storm retaliated with three goals back-to-back.  Williams skated fast and strong finding the back of the opponents’ net with an assist from Terrence Johnsen.  Forsyth fired a hard shot on a set up from Austin Morris.  Tyler Muzzell scored the third goal for the Storm, with assists going to Forsyth and Brennan Harvie.  TCDMHA added their second goal with only 3 ½ minutes left on the clock. .  Dan Hilbers and Ethan Ritchie shadowed their opponent’s key players throughout the game preventing them from following through with their game plan.  Despite their continuous efforts, the guest team could not get past the Storm’s strong defensive lines of Mike Bohnert, Carter Swanson, Levi Klie, Harvie and Morris.  The Storm continued to force the play and were rewarded with two goals to win the game 5 – 2.  Vecchies fired a shot to the back of the net with an assist from Blake D’Angelo.  Harrison got his second of the night with a great pass from Johnsen

With the series tied, the Storm came into Game 3 determined and relentless to win the final game of playoff series against TCDMHA in Chatsworth on March 26th.  The Storm’s Thomas Forsyth netted the first goal within the first 2 minutes of the game, with an assist from Carter Swanson.  TCDMHA tied up the game early in the second period.  Harrison Williams earned a hat-trick for this final game, assisted by Terrence Johnsen.  The Storm dominated TCDMHA during the entire game both offensively and defensively.  Brady Conley and Richard Besito were strong in goal and were crucial in their team’s success.  The Storm’s determination and team-effort paid off with a solid win of 4 – 2.

The Pee Wee boys enjoyed a great season of local league minor hockey.  All players come away this year with various personal benefits, including feelings of camaraderie, as well as having the opportunity to explore the importance of dedication and perseverance while working as a team.  Good work boys!
