Saugeen Shores Vs. Arran Elderslie-Feb. 19,2010
Last night, the team finished back to back games against Arran Elderslie. Both games were very close and very exciting. The boys played one of their best games on wednesday night at the Colliseum in Southampton. Arran Elderslie opened the scoring 2 minutes into the third period. Only 2 minutes later Henry Fryday of Saugeen Shores tied it up with a goal that was unassisted. With no more scoring in the third period, the game was taken into overtime. 1 minute into overtime Chesley ended the game with the winning goal. The Final score was 2-1 for A E. Two days later, we met up with them again in Chesley where the boys played another terrific game. Once again Chesley opened the scoring 3 minutes into the first period followed by a second goal 2 1/2 minutes into the second period. 1 minute later Saugeen shores player Dallas Lewis scored an unassisted goal to make the score 2-1. With 2 minutes left in the second period A E scored another goal making it 3-1. In the 3rd period A E got what would be there last goal of the game with 6 minutes left. In an attempt to catch them, Saugeen Shores poured it on and Ben Cottrell scored there second goal assisted by Riley Schoettler and Curtis Ritchie. Unable to come back Saugeen Shores lost 4-2. Way to go Storm!
