Bantam Storm end season
The Bruce County Physiotherapy/Lakeshore Recreation Bantam A/E Storm played a 3 game series with Seaforth. Game one was March 2 in Southampton

The Storm came out and couldn’t gain any momentum. Seaforth was able to score 1 in the first to have a 1-0 lead after the first period.  The Storm generated a few more chances to score in the second, but were unable to produce a goal. Seaforth would  score 2 quick goals to take a 3-0 lead. Seaforth would add 1 in the third to take the first game 4-0.

 

          Game two was last Saturday in Seaforth. The Storm came out of the gate looking to keep their season alive. Saugeen Shores lead 2-0 after the first, and 4-0 after the second. Scoring for the Storm were James Besito, Justin Greig, and Mac Gallagher with 2 goals. The home team Seaforth would mount a comeback in the third scoring 2 goals, however some nice saves by Saugeen Shores goaltender David McGinnis made sure that Seaforth didn’t get any closer , and the Storm won the game 4-2.

 

          The 3rd and deciding game was on Friday March 12 in Seaforth. The Storm had appeared to have score a goal 20 seconds into the game, however the goal was waved off because the net was knocked off. The Storm keep the pressure on though and minutes later, Besito passed the puck back to Gallagher at the point, who took a shot that fooled the Seaforth Goaltender and went in over his glove. Saugeen Shores looked to add more to their lead, but we unable to score and held a 1-0 lead after the first period. Sloppy play would be costly for the Storm in the second, as Seaforth tied up the game just over 1 minute into the second period. Minutes later, Seaforth was able to take a 2-1 lead. Some end to end rushes by the Storm gave them good scoring chances but were unable to tie, and trailed 2-1 after 2 periods. In the final frame, more nice saves by McGinnis kept his team in the game. Saugeen Shores pulled McGinnis for the extra attacker with just over 1 minute to go in the game. The Storm had appeared to tie the game with just seconds to go in the game, however another Storm goal was called off, and Saugeen Shores ended their season with a 2-1 loss.

 

          Saugeen Shores players are to be congratulated on a great season.
