Atom Girls Successful in Home & Home Series
Jan 31, 2009 - The Dunlop Fuels / Rintoul's Pool & Spa Atom girls earned a well deserved three points in a rare one day home & home series against Markdale.
Goaltender Erica Parker had two flawless outings, earning a shutout victory in the first game in Markdale. The Storm were led to a 2-0 victory with goals from Alexis Martin and Rochelle Salters. While the feisty Markdale team seemed to control the flow for much of the game in front of their home town fans, solid play at both ends of the rink ensured the Storm hung on for the win.
The afternoon game took place in Southampton and saw the teams battle to a 0-0 tie. Again, solid two way play as well as some stellar saves by Parker secured the tie and a capped off a well deserved three point day.
