BDO Dunwoody Atoms force 5th game against Collingwood - written by Christine Flarity
After a pair of games over the weekend, the Saugeen Shores BDO Dunwoody Atoms have tied their OMHA playoff series against Collingwood. On Saturday afternoon, the teams faced off at the Plex.  The hometown crowd wasn’t able to get the team going as they lost 4-0 to a much hungrier Collingwood squad.

The boys headed back to Collingwood Sunday afternoon looking for a little redemption and revenge.  The team played much stronger from the opening face-off and counted on Jack Flarity for some key saves in the opening minutes.  Saugeen Shores was on the board first when Eric Langridge scored from Tristan Rajendra and Hayden Duplantis.  The Storm went up 2-0 in the first when Tristan Rajendra scored on a deflected shot at the net from Michael Bohnert.

Collingwood got on board in the second to bring the game to 2-1 before Michael Fiegehen scored on an assist from Hayden Duplantis.  Collingwood came back again in the second to bring the game to within one goal heading into the third.

Tyler Donaldson, Brendan Morano and Harrison Alvarez worked hard at digging in the corners to help their team to charge to the net.

A seesaw battle ensued in the third as the teams traded goals.  Tristan Rajendra scored the fourth goal of the game for Saugeen Shores assisted once again by Michael Bohnert.

With eight minutes to go in the game, Collingwood brought the score to 4-3 which made for a nail-biting affair to the final buzzer.  The Saugeen Shores defensive players Paul Leger, Eric Langridge, Michael Bohnert and Chris Gilbert worked to keep the puck out of their zone and the opposition off the scoreboard.

The teams play the 5th and final game of the series at the Plex on Saturday afternoon.  GO STORM GO!
