Midget BB Lose in a Thriller to Parry Sound
The Midget BB team sponsored by Martin's Home Hardware and Martin's Bicycle Shop travelled to Parry Sound on Dec 5, 6, 7 for a tournament.

First up was a game against Barrie.  It was a fast, clean match.  Derek Kouhi played his usual solid game and was called on to make several outstanding saves as the game wore on.  Ben Underwood put the Storm up 1-0 on a goal assisted by Spencer Primeau.  There was no change until Barrie scored a heartbreaker with less than 4 seconds to go to tie the game 1-1.

Game 2 was against Hamilton and also included a very late goal in the 2nd period to put Hamilton up 2-0.  The boys turned things around in the third starting with Cory MacDonald finishing a tic-tac-toe on a power play.  Nick Goreski took advantage of some sloppy puck clearing by Hamilton to tie the game 2-2.  Matt Ingrey put the Storm in front after accepting a nice feed to score on a breakaway.  Paul Latouf sealed the deal with a 160 foot shot into an open net.

In Game 3 the Storm recorded their 2nd tie of the tournament (against Bradford, 1-1) and then had to wait until Sunday morning to find out if they qualified for the wild card position.  Advancing on their goals for / against ratio, the Storm played Parry Sound in the semi-finals.  This was a rematch from the championship game of the Owen Sound Fall Classic where Saugeen prevailed in overtime.  Unfortunately, Parry Sound gained their revenge by winning 1-0 on a power play goal.   It was a highly entertaining and well played game.  The Storm pressed extremely hard in the last half of the third period but couldn't beat the young lady playing net.     Congratulations to both teams.  The Storm would welcome a chance to play Parry Sound in the OMHA playdowns in what would be an excellent series.

The boys have a quiet week but finish the year with 3 games; Dec 15 in Walkerton, Dec 17 in Kincardine and Dec 19 vs Mount Forest 9:30 @ the Plex.
