Bantam AE Wins Fergus Tournament
The Saugeen Shores Bantam AE Team won their division at the 23rd Annual Fergus Legion Tournament this past weekend.
The started with a 6-2 win over Collingwood in Elora on Friday morning and followed that up with a 4-1 win over the host Centre Wellington in Fergus Friday evening.
After getting the day off on Saturday their final round robin game was against a tough Woolwich squad as they ended up on the losing end of a 5-2 score.
As luck would have it they would get the chance for revenge as they faced that same Woolwich squad in the Bantam AE championship game later that same day. Although Woolwich took the early lead just over one minute into the game it was Saugeen Shores that rolled to a convincing 4-2 win for the title.
The coaching staff would like to thank the parents for their dedication in getting the players to the games considering the severe winter weather for driving.
