U15B Takes Home Silver Medals
The weekend of October 27-29, the SSMHA U15B team, proudly sponsored by KNK Lawn Care headed to Essa for their first tournament of the season.
The weekend unfortunately started with a tough 0-6 loss to a strong Ennismore team, but these boys decided to be motivated by the defeat and head into the Saturday games with a great attitude and lots of effort.
Game 2 was a battle against South Kent and the boys took a 5-3 W with lots of excellent passing and communication. Goals scored by Carter, Brendan, Ben and Sully with solid defensive efforts to keep the puck away from Lincoln.
Game 3 the boys dominated by taking lots of shots, always looking for the set up and working together well. Goals by Carter, Zander and Riley, assisted by Jackson, Ben, Johnny and Tyler.
The boys were up against the home team, Essa for the Semi Finals and absolutely dominated with a 6-0 victory that would take them to the Finals later that day. Beccam crushed a hat trick!! The other 3 goals came from Zander, Riley and Carter and assisted by Sawyer, Regan, Brendan, Zander and Ben. Total group effort!
SSMHA U15B was up against Ennismore in the Finals and after the 0-6 loss only a couple days prior, the boys knew that they were in for a battle, but they were amazing! Lincoln absolutely stood on his head in net, keeping it a 0-0 game almost to the end, with Ennismore scoring their ONLY goal against us on their Power Play. This game was an incredible team effort, with the defensive players getting a solid workout. Huge shout out to the players for the noted improvement against this team. In the end the boys lost 0-1 but were rewarded with Silver Hardware to bring home.
