Bob Tansley Memorial Tournament Nov 3 - 4
The Scotiabank Peewee AE team travelled to Tillsonburg November 3 - 4 to play in the Bob Tansley Memorial Tournament.  Our first game was against the Pelham Panthers on Friday in the early afternoon.  This game proved to be a rocky start to our tournament as the Storm was only able to clench 2 goals, and were defeated by the Panthers by a score of 5-2.  Storm goals go to Talan Martin and Zac Longmire. This definitely wasn't the best performance that the team is capable of.  Perhaps the long drive took a toll on the kids.

A quick bite and most team members were able to travel to London to check in to the hotel, and race back to the rink for game two.  Facing off against Tillsonburg Tornadoes for a 6:30 pm puck drop also didn't go as planned.  Suffering a loss of 5-1, the boys seemed defeated.  Hopefully a little fun and a good night sleep will do the team well and allow us to regroup in the morning.

Facing off against the New Hamburg Huskies the following afternoon was in the sights for the Storm.  Rested and ready to do battle the Storm came out with a little more determination than the previous day.  The Huskies were rated slightly higher as they had already won both their games heading into this match up.  Ignoring the odds, the Storm came out strong and managed to get the first goal on the board compliments of Chris Hoffman assisted by Jimmy Gattesco.  Actually a total of 5 goals were had between both teams in the first period alone.   Hoffman’s goal and then 2 quick hitters by Hunter Palinsky and assisted by Ozzie Alpaugh and Cam Cumming.  Going into the second the game seemed pretty even with one more goal coming from our end by Luke Noe assisted by Cam Cumming but soon after the Huskies squeaked one past Colby to round out the core at 4-3 in favour of the Storm.  It was a nail biter as many opportunities for both teams surfaced, but both goalies were on top of their games and kept the puck out of the nets for the remainder of the game.  Defeating the huskies, by a score of 4-3, the Storm could be proud of this game.

Unfortunately, the scores were tallied, and the Storm fell short and had to go packing.  Better luck next time boys!
