Shallow Lake Lakers
Shallow Lake took an early lead with 2 unanswered goals in the 1st period.
The second period was our time to shine. With 3 goals. In the 2nd period, Hunter came alive and attacked with a shot wide to the right. He had his sights set and when the puck came around dumped back in front by Brennan, Hunter easily popped it in for his first goal of the season. Great assist by Brennan.
We saw several great attempts from Lucas and Andrew and both players put a goal on the board in the 2nd period. Andrew carried the puck; took a look, shot and scored at 5:31 unassisted. Lucas, with a perfect set-up, was assisted by Tyler and Andrew for his goal at 3:44. Our opponents put another 2 goals on the board in the second period bringing the score to 4:3.
One more goal from the Lakers wrapped up the scoring at the beginning of the 3rd . LL 2 raged a tough battle to a 5:3 loss and showed strong competitiveness, working hard till the end. Nick played a strong game with good use of body out-muscling many Lakers forwards. Goalie Jack Bennett faced some three-on-one and two-on-one breakouts which kept him on his toes. Jack had some big saves which were met by huge cheering from the fans.
It is a busy week for Rowlands Independent PeeWee LL2 with upcoming games Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday.
