ATOM LL#2 WIN their First Game of the Season!
The Atom Local League #2 (LL2) flew out the doors, ready to take on the Bruce Peninsula Northstars #2.
Devin Drury scored a hat-trick in the first 3 mins 10 seconds of the game and scored a fourth in the 3rd period! Super speed and teamwork was demonstrated by all. LL2 racked up 4 other goals, scored by Lucas Noe, Andrew Guo “Guo-Man” and Dylan Poulsen who put 2 in the net. Goal scorers were supported by great assists from Brennan Martin, Dylan Poulsen, Camden Ritchie and Devin Drury.
Jack Bennett in his first game as a full-time goalie celebrated a shut-out. Positive leadership on the bench from Head Coach Mike Phillips, Trainer Peter Noe, and assistant Darryl Embro coached the team to a victory 8-0.
Defensemen Quinn Fowler, Richie Carter, Dylan Poulsen, Brady Phillips and Nick Embro anchored the play keeping the play in the opponents’ end much of the game. Nick and Dylan both made some physical tactical defensive moves to de-rail strong attacks from Bruce Peninsula.
Camden Ritchie’s premiere as a forward showed promise with several shots on net, keeping the goalie busy. Forwards Joseph Hodgkins, Liam Kelly, Caleb Mason, and Tyler Morrison demonstrated great position play.
The Bruce Peninsula Northstars #2 worked hard all game, with only 9 skaters but they just couldn't break through Storm defense. LL2 face them again in their very next game on Saturday, Nov 1 at Wiarton at 4 pm.
