LL4
McNuggets took on our Shallow Lake Lakers 1 rivals on Saturday morning at the Shallow Lake and District Community
Centre. The game was a true battle, but we came out on top and defeated
the Lakers 1 team.
Right from
the start of this game you could feel the intensity and see the determination
that the team had to fight for the win. It might have been the fact that
coach Nugget put a gentleman’s wager on the line stating that if the McNuggets
were to win against the Lakers 1 team that he would wear a shirt and tie for
the remainder of the playoff games.
The
McNuggets started off on their game feet and managed to sink 2 in the Lakers
net only halfway through the first period. This 2-0 lead was maintained through
the first and into the second period but was soon to be evened up by the Lakers
half way through the second period.
Now the
excitement began as we started off the third, on an even plane. Only
seconds after the period started the McNuggets slammed the go ahead goal into
the Lakers 1 net making it 3-2 for LL4. We couldn’t seem to maintain this
lead and the Lakers 1 again challenged us and tied it up. With just over
six minutes left in the third, Will turned it on and sunk what turned out to be
the winning goal making it 4-3 for the LL4 McNuggets. This was a tight
match up.
Honorable
mentions go to Emmett getting an unassisted goal, Will, getting 2 goals and 1
assist, Lucas for 1 goal and Kaiden getting an assist, and also game puck.
Great job Kaiden! Keep up the hard work.
The McNuggets are back on the ice for Thursday 5:00pm practice in Southampton.
