Storm#1, Cason Supply / Foodland, travelled to Desboro Saturday morning to take on The Rebels in an interesting match were they only had 5 skaters and a goalie.

Only having 5 skaters and a goalie, The Storm got off to a quick start with Andy scoring his first Novice goal on a beauty wrist shot as he took the offensive thirty two seconds into the game with Talan earning the assist.  Less than a minute later Andy returned the favour to Talan on a nice pass in the slot were he buried it with no hesitation and the Strom were up 2-0 quick.  The players were looking good but when a puck got by the defensemen on the blue line and the Rebel player made a great skate and shot beating Lucas in net to make the score 2-1.

Going into the second the players were confident and playing great positional hockey with a winger always out front.  This great work and positional play paid off big time when Talan made another pass over to Ian who was in perfect position in front and hammered one home to open the score up 3-1.  The passing and hard work in the Rebels zone was fantastic all period as each player had some great opportunities.  Lucas was instrumental in net and always covering up the puck to give his team a quick break to catch their breath and he kept his team up by 2 goals at the end second period.

In the third we saw Jimmy score his first Novice goal just over a minute in as he picked up a great pass from Ian and found the back of the net with ease.  The Storm would go on to score 6 more goals after that with Jimmy netting one more, Talan getting 3 more, and Austin D racked up 2.  Assists on these goals were earned by Jimmy, Austin D, and Ian with some fantastic passing to the front of the net and on the rushes into the Rebels zone.

All 5 skaters played a really excellent game and worked very hard all game long as the only breaks they had was to get a drink between whistles and short sit on the bench between periods.  Lucas was really great all game in net and even asked his team going into the third to allow the Rebels some more shots for him to handle.

Big announcements after the game were Andy and Jimmy earning pucks for their First Novice goals, and Talan for his first ever Hat Trick.  Congrats guys!!  I know for a fact Andy and Jimmy have been hungry for that first goal for some time.

Next game is Saturday Jan 4, 1pm @ the Plex vs The Rebels
