Storm Pee Wee Girls Win in Tiverton
The Storm Pee Wee Girls held on for an incredible 4-3 victory in a nail-biter of a game against Tiverton on Sunday.
In what proved to be one of the most exciting games this reporter has seen the girls play, the Storm jumped out to a commanding 3 - 0 lead by the end of the second period on goals by Olivia Osborne, Brianne Becker and Alexis Martin.
There were lots of chances at both ends of the ice which had the boisterous fans on their feet for most of the game. The determined Tiverton team did not give up however, clawing their way back into the game with an early third period marker. Osborne scored her second of the game at 3:32 of the third, which proved to be the winner as some Tiverton late game heroics were just not enough to overcome The Storm.
Martin and Becker each also notched assists as did Leah Fowler, Emma DeBoer and Zoe Mackintosh.
The next contest for the girls is another exhibition game against Bruce Peninsula on Friday, October 30 in Wiarton.
