Working the canteen is Saugeen Shores Minor Hockeys number one way of providing you the opportunity to complete your fundraising hours. SSMHA uses two arenas, The Plex in Port Elgin and the Coliseum in Southampton. You will find calendars on the canteen doors with the hours that are available to work each month. You commit to the hours you want to work by filling in the space with the name of the person the hours are going to, usually your childs name. Please make sure you can work these hours as you become responsible to cover them even if you cross your childs name out. Any hours you do not complete after signing up for them will be added to the total number of hours you owe. When you show up for your shift there is a binder in the canteen that has step by step instructions on how to open and close the canteen. In the binder there is a sheet called CANTEEN SIGN IN. If you do not fill in this sheet you will not get credit for the hours you have worked. Please remember that part of your duties while in the canteen are to make sure it is stocked and clean before the end of your shift. The person who comes in after you now has to sign off on the condition of the canteen. If you have left it a mess, 1 hour will be removed from the hours you completed .
