09-10 Atom BB - Atom BB Bring Home A Couple of Wins
Submitted By Karen MacDonald on Wednesday, March 03, 2010
The BDO Dunwoody Atom BB team finished off another week of playoff hockey with a couple of wins.  Although the week ended off on a positive note, it didn’t start out the same way.  The Atom BB team travelled to Durham on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd to face the Durham Huskies.  The Huskies wasted no time in setting the Storm team back on its heels, scoring a quick goal during the first minute of play.  The Storm never really found a way to recover and their defensive play kept the final score to 4-0 for the Huskies.

The next night the BDO Dunwoody Atom BB team travelled to Walkerton to take on the Walkerton Capitals. On this night it would be the Storm who would set the tone of the game, scoring first at the 8:28 mark of the first period.  The playmaking of the Storm definitely dictated the pace of the game and they found themselves up 5-0 early on in the third.  Murray, Martin, Eric Charlebois, Michael Fiegehen, Nick Sutter-Lammie and Paul Leger all scored singles for the Storm team.  Thomas MacDonald had two assists, while Sutter-Lammie and Korey Thomas each had one.  The Capitals were able to put forth a strong effort in the final moments of the game as they managed to score their only goal at the 34.3 mark of the final period. Final score 5-1 for the BDO Dunwoody Atom BB team.

The BDO Dunwoody Atom BB team continued their road trip with a journey to Clifford on Saturday, Feb. 27th to face the Hanover Falcons.  The Atom BBs continued their strong style of play and once again found themselves in the driver’s seat for the duration of the game.  The Storm kept the pressure on offensively and defensively throughout. Their efforts paid off with a 7-1 win.

Next up is a best of three series against the Hanover Falcons.
